Licensing & Purchasing

Q: What is the difference between Pro and Free versions?

A: The Free version of the Data Processor for Jira app is designed to support only the standard tables and fields available in Jira Work Management, such as Issues, Worklogs, Comments, Attachments, etc. The Pro version, on the other hand, unlocks the capability to export a wider range of data, including custom fields, Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Assets, and Advanced Roadmaps. The full list of tables and fields available for export in both versions you can see here.

Additionally, the Pro version supports exporting data to Excel and PDF formats (coming soon), beyond the CSV and JSON formats offered in the Free version. In the future, we aim to enhance the Pro version further by integrating custom templates and BI dashboards. For more information on upcoming features, check out our 2024 Roadmap.

Q: How can I purchase Data Processor for Jira Pro?

A: To acquire the Pro version, you must first install the Free version, as the Pro operates as a paid add-on. After installing the Free version, go to the ‘Apps’ tab within your Jira Instance and select ‘Explore more apps’. Use the search function to locate Data Processor for Jira PRO. Click on ‘Start trial’ and proceed with the installation wizard. For comprehensive instructions, please consult our Installation guide.

Subscriptions and payments are managed by Atlassian. After the trial period concludes (Atlassian typically offers a 30-day free trial for Cloud apps), payment will commence automatically. For inquiries related to payments or licenses, please contact Atlassian Support at https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/.

Q: Our Jira Instance includes many users, but only a select few will need access to your paid app. Can we buy licenses for just those users?

A: Atlassian's policy requires the app purchase to cover all users in your Jira instance, regardless of how many will use the app. The pricing is based on the total user count. Please consult the Pricing section of our Marketplace listing for detailed information on costs.

Q: Is it possible to extend the trial period or receive a discount on the Pro version?

A: Unfortunately, for cloud apps, it's not possible to extend the free trial period beyond its initial duration. When you subscribe to a cloud app, a free evaluation period is automatically provided, which lasts for a minimum of 30 days and concludes with the second billing cycle post-subscription.

Still, we invite you to get in touch with us. We're dedicated to ensuring our customers' satisfaction and believe we can work together to find a solution that meets your needs.

Installation and Administration

Q: Why isn't the Pro version working after installation?

A: The Pro version requires the Free app to be installed initially, as it functions as an add-on to the Free version. Once the Pro version is installed, its information will be accessible in the ‘Apps’ section, located in the left sidebar of the app.

Q: I'm not a Jira Admin, but I find your app extremely useful for my daily tasks. How can I go about getting it?

A: As installation privileges are reserved for Jira admins, you'll need to request that your admin installs the app for you. This can be done directly by contacting your admin or by navigating through ‘Try it free’ ➡️'Request app' ➡️ 'Submit request' to formally submit your request for the app.

User Experience

Q: Can everyone in my Jira instance use the app?

A: Initially, only certain roles like admins, system admins, site admins, and Jira admins are granted automatic rights to utilize the addon and export data from Jira. However, administrators have the ability to extend these permissions to selected Groups, thereby allowing members of these groups to manage and export Data Sources. For comprehensive instructions of how to grant permissions, please refer to our detailed guide.

Q: Can I, as an admin, assign app usage rights to a specific individual?

A: The app does not support assigning usage rights directly to individual users. Instead, if you aim to provide specific access to certain individuals, the recommended approach is to create a new group for those users. By doing this, you can finely tune permissions for team members, ensuring precise control over who can use the app.

Q: Can I export data specific to other apps I'm using within my Jira instance?

A: Our development is focused on creating a comprehensive ecosystem around the Data Processor, aiming to include the ability to export data from widely-used integrations such as Xray, Tempo, Projectrak, Zephyr Scale, among others, in the near future. This will be possible through additional addons that can be acquired for either the Free or Pro versions of our app. You will find all the available addons listed in the Apps section, located in the app's left sidebar. For navigating through the Data Processor ecosystem easily, please use our Ecosystem Map.

Q: Why am I able to see Jira Software fields for export but unable to add them to a Data Source?

A: The capability to include Jira Software fields, along with Jira Service Management, Assets, Advanced Roadmaps, and custom fields, is exclusive to the Pro version. Ensure that you have the Pro version installed to access these features.

Q: Why am I unable to copy the URL after creating the Data Source for Power BI?

A: Inability to copy the URL by clicking suggests that your Jira API token may be invalid. You'll need to update or change it. For comprehensive steps on how to do this, please consult our detailed instructions.

Q: Can I edit my existing Data Source, or must I create a new one for any changes?

A: You can modify your current Data Source. Simply click the three-line (menu) button on the right and choose the 'Edit' option to make your changes.

Q: Is it possible to delete a Data Source I no longer require?

A: Absolutely, you can remove any existing Data Source by clicking the three-line (menu) button on the right and choosing the 'Delete' option.
