Welcome to the Better Issue History Viewer for Jira User Guide! This section will help you get the most out of the plugin by providing step-by-step instructions on how to use its features effectively.
Accessing the Better Issue History Viewer
Navigate to an Issue: Go to any issue within your Jira project and locate the Better Issue History Viewer icon under the Activity section.
Viewing Issue History: Click on the Better Issue History Viewer icon to open the detailed history view in the History tab. The issue history will be displayed with color-coded highlights: red for modifications and green for new inputs.
Using Filters and Grouping
Group Issue History: Group the history entries by editor, date, or field to get a structured view. This helps in organizing the data and making it easier to analyze.
Apply Filters: Use the filter options to narrow down the issue history by date, field or editor. Select the desired criteria to quickly find the relevant information.
Use the 'Clean' button to reset all applied filters, returning the issue history view to its default state, and the 'Refresh' button to update the issue history view with the latest changes and data, ensuring you have the most current information.
Using Full-Screen Mode
Enter Full-Screen Mode: Click on the "Enter Full Screen" button to expand the history view to full-screen mode. This provides a larger workspace for better visibility and ease of use.
Exit Full-Screen Mode: Click on the "Exit Full Screen" button to return to the regular view.
User’s Photo
The interface includes user’s photo to provide a more personalized and connected experience. This feature helps in easily identifying who made the changes.
By clicking on a user's photo, you will be redirected to his/her/their Jira profile.
Upcoming Features: Chart Tab
Accessing the Chart Tab (Available Soon):
Once implemented, the Chart Tab will provide advanced data visualization tools.
Users will be able to create visual reports such as Timeline for Field Change, Detailed Change Log, Time Spent per Field Status, and more.
Permissions for Chart Tab:
Admins will have the ability to assign permissions for creating and editing reports.
Only authorized users will be able to modify and manage these visual reports.
