At this stage, you have also the option to edit or delete the Data Source by clicking on the three-line button.

  3. Open Tableau and head to the ‘Connect To a Server’ section. Choose ‘OData’ from the options (if it's not visible in the quick start menu on the left, select ‘More…’ to find 'OData’ in the extended list).

  4. In Tableau's pop-up window:

    - Server Section: Enter the URL from Step 2 in the ‘Server’ field. Be cautious not to duplicate 'https://'.
    - Authentication Method: Select 'Username and Password'.
    - Username: Enter the email linked to your Jira Cloud instance.
    - Password: Use your Jira API Token. For instructions on obtaining it, see this page.
    - Sign In: Click 'Sign In' to establish the connection with Tableau.

Importing a substantial amount of data into Tableau might require some additional time to complete. This is particularly true for larger datasets.

  1. Drag and drop your desired Jira tables into Tableau. After positioning them, click on 'Sheet 1' to initiate the data extraction process. This action will bring your selected Jira data into Tableau for further manipulation and analysis.

  2. After extracting data into Sheet 1, you're ready to begin creating graphs and dashboards. This step allows you to visualize and analyze the imported Jira data effectively in Tableau.
